This Association (APECS) and the Association of Catholic School Principals Inc. (ACSP, NSW) was originally one organization.  However, in 1984 it was decided to separate professional and industrial issues so ACSP Inc. (NSW) became the professional association and APECS emerged as an association that looked after the industrial needs of primary and secondary principals in Catholic schools in New South Wales.  Since then the executive officer of the association, Myree Ingle has worked tirelessly in ensuring that the industrial interests of Catholic principals are listened to and responded to in a professional setting, as well as being involved in negotiating with relevant bodies on the conditions under which principals work .
